Subluxation Degeneration (Osteoarthritis)

Osteoarthritis is a condition where the joints of the body begin to degenerate and deteriorate due to chronic repetitive
and long-term use.  This degeneration includes the breakdown of cartilage and soft tissues in joints and the
accumulation of bone on existing bone around the joint.  Osteoarthritis is a condition that develops over time and usually
takes years to develop.

The vertebrae and intervertebral discs in the spine undergo this process as well, and when subluxations are present in
the spine, this process can be greatly accelerated.

B
elow you can see a normal spine and an osteoarthritic spine:
As the spine undergoes degeneration from subluxations, bone spurs form on the vertebrae.  The disks, which act as a
cushion between the vertebrae, can become dehydrated and unhealthy, as well.  An unhealthy, narrowed disk will also
make the hole that the nerve comes out of to become smaller.  This can lead to a "pinched nerve".  Pinched nerves
can
cause numbness, tingling, radiating pain, and many other symptoms.
